Services
-
I offer a free 15-minute consultation via telephone. This provides an opportunity to have an informal chat to see what has brought you to therapy, how we might work together, if I am a suitable fit for you and, if not, what alternative services might be better tailored to your needs.
-
Additionally, If you are uncomfortable speaking over the phone, we can arrange an alternative way to communicate.
-
Face-to-face, telephone and online sessions – whichever suits you best.
Pricing
Sessions are 50 minutes. I charge £60 as standard. I also offer a fixed amount of concessionary rates for those on lower income and seniors (over 60), which I am happy to discuss.
I provide a non-judgmental, safe and supportive, client-centred environment, which means that we work collaboratively in a way that works for you. I am trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist; therefore, my background is in humanistic, psychodynamic, and Person-Centred therapy.
I work as a trauma-informed practitioner, using a three-stage model approach, as I believe it is not what is 'wrong' with you but what happened to you (Power Threat Meaning Framework) and how you can find your way back to yourself through the therapeutic relationship.
It is also a space to celebrate your strengths and gain perspective, as committing to counselling can often be the most challenging yet empowering step forward.
I am LGBTQIA+ informed and offer queer affirmative, anti-oppressive and explorative therapy, as well as neurodiverse-affirmative psychotherapy, as I understand some of the additional struggles and cultural stressors that might come with being part of a minority group. I am also mindful of my unconscious bias and privilege and therefore strive to educate myself through continual personal development (CPD) and challenge instilled beliefs open-mindedly.
I am warm, down-to-earth and compassionate, providing a relaxed atmosphere whilst remaining professional and fully dedicated to our work together.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
I initially offer weekly or fortnightly sessions, as I believe consistency and regularity are important factors in promoting long-lasting change, especially when starting something new and developing the therapeutic relationship.
The frequency also depends on your preference and what is feasible for you, your budget and schedule.
Although I tend to offer the same time and day, I can provide some flexibility, which I am happy to discuss, as I appreciate this is not convenient for everyone.
